In the last 12 months, Highline schools obtained over $14 million in FAA Airport Improvement grants for noise mitigation tasks. The Des Moines and Burien schools were not noted to modify the noise contour map settlement between the Port of Seattle, the FAA, and the college district. The new investment for these projects will benefit more than 1,600 students.
“The airport has been growing at awesome prices over the years, and we are very cognizant of the influences of our surrounding communities, especially for our kids,” said Port of Seattle Commissioner Fred Felleman. “The youngsters are our destiny, and they intend to have a quiet college for you to analyze. And so we have invested over $61 million to date. This $9 million further investment via our Senator and our remarkable Congressman Adam Smith genuinely contributes to the future we’re committed to persevering with.”
An effort to further reduce the number of children and teenagers living on the streets of King County is underway. The End Youth Homelessness Now marketing campaign, a nearby effort with the aid of All Home, Seattle, and King County, intends to make sure each “young individual” within the county has “safe and stable housing.” “We got to give it up,” Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan said throughout Tuesday’s news conference. “We owe it to our youngsters. However, we owe it to ourselves and our future.”
